A thick solenoid modelled with M'C
Problem statement
We wish to compute the central field of a thick solenoid with 1 m inner radius,
2 m outer radius and 1 m height. The current is 1 MAturn.
Modelling
M'C has a high level primitive, the loop that is used to generate and mesh
the solenoid. A Loop is automatically divided in 8-nodes bricks.
The number of bricks used for meshing is determined by the user.

Field plot
M'C generates combined color 3-D plots of the coil geometry and of the
field map as shown above. Colors depends on the field intensity,
stronger (red) inside the solenoid, weaker (blue) outside it.

Results
The magnetic field calculation is exact based on the
meshed geometry, i.e. the only error is coming from the approximation
of the curved geometry of the solenoid using 8-nodes bricks. This is the
convergence curve for the central field.
The relative error on the central field decreases with the square of
the number of elements - a quadratic convergence.
Accuracy of the order of tens of ppm and better is at hand !
